The Parish Council receives a copy of all planning applications which have been submitted to Taunton Deane Borough Council (on average 15 to 20 each year). The Parish Council normally has 21 days within which to respond and in almost every case makes a site visit in the company of the applicant/landowner. Notices giving details of the site and date of meeting are placed on the noticeboards.
Members of the public and press can attend site meetings, although the applicant/landowner may not invite them onto their property. Once a decision has been made the Clerk replies to the Borough Council with reasons for the decision and he also informs the applicant of the Parish Council’s decision.
